"Managers have their favorites. Even though I was part of managment, they spoke about you behind your back, let each other get away with coming into work drunk, late, or as and when they liked. Whilst the rest of us so much as picked up the proper work."

"If you work an 8hr you get 2 10min breaks but will not have the time to take them. Management hates when you take your break Management sit around the corner chatting or on phones while work staff do all the work for less pay and no credit Customers are horrible No care for health and safety expect to climb rickety ladders and wear shoes that are basically destroyed. Workwear isn’t fully covered you do need to provide your own trousers and if there is an inspection expect to be told you can’t wear your screwfix beanie (if you get one) even in winter. Days are busy. Very busy in some stores for what you get paid. No incentives for staff, but management get bonuses so expect to work extra hard so they get more."

"Lack of training. I was still on probation When I had to train the new staff. No support from Head office, if issues are raised they’re shrugged off with no follow up or solution. Constantly asked of for favours, then when you need something in return as was promised you are treated like a difficult uncompromising person. Managers are more about following the exact wording then interpreting solutions for the best results. Many people in authority will say one thing to you then another to their superiors, leaving little but not support. Health and Safety not a priority if it affects the outward appearance of their public profile. Constantly short staffed then criticised for not completing the tasks of a team twice your size, even when exceeding targets. Ruins social life, no emotional energy left to engage in home life."

"Toxic work environment, management treat you like you should be grateful for being given basic work rights which are required by law. Like they're doing you a favour. Management are sly and put staff against one another. No sensitivity training in regards to mental health or anything else. The management make it clear that they don't want people with commitments (kids) working there and are slowly pushing parents out. Management are lazy and stand at the desk on Facebook even when it's busy and there's ques to the door. Trade staff are entitled and treat screwfix staff and non trade customers like scum. Nepotism is rife!"

"to begin with the place seemed great till you get to know people its like high-school if not worse, the management it worse the your co workers. Management sit having tea and biscuits and on Facebook or chatting with whoever their favourite is that day. "I used to work in the Screwfix warehouse in Stafford. The salary is around 15p more than the minimum wage. I must be ok with lifting 25kg bags of cement,paint all day long. If u stop for a second to say "hi" to someone,immediately one of the bosses (they are thousands,believe me) will come to u and ask u what was the conversation about... If u r late 10 seconds from ur brake u r in a big big trouble. Most of the menagers are from Tesco.We used to call them "The tesco team".So is no chance to progress there. Without overtime u put in ur pocket around 1300. If u r on the street and u don't have anything for breakfast....it's ok for u. But for this money u can find a job in Trinidad and Tobago. Don't do it...Do a favour to ur self..."

"Terrible Management. No Duty of Care for staff. Staff turnaround is probably the biggest of any retail shop in Barnstaple. Most times Staff don’t even get lunch breaks and when they do they’re almost guilted into not taking them. Sales Assistants aren’t appreciated. Assistant Manager in particular is a very nasty person. "Working at DC3 as a temp worker I was made to feel very unwelcome, two shift managers standing their like plumbs watching over you as if your rubbish on the floor making you feel very uncomfortable!! Even on a chilly day, you find you’re self sweating buckets tipping and loading trailers all day, you need to shower at least twice a day to keep your personal hygiene up to standard. "Store full of egocentric arrogant showoffs who have their own click starting from the management who stand around doing nothing all day. The staff that are not part of the click dare not speak up and sheep it all day doing all the work to boot. You can see from the staff turnover always employing part time staff that the management are just not cutting it and are not a pleasure to work with at all. It's their way or the highway and definitely not the screw-fix way. Checked stock availability online at my nearest branch- waited for texted- no text so went to nearest branch to be told that no shower in stock in branch and waiting delivery.my plumber needs this shower ASAP.asked to cancel and told can only cancel when I receive text message and collect shower and that money will take 5 days to be refunded. UNBELIEVABLE. I will never deal with this company again. I will now be taking all my business to TOOLSTATION."

"No a trustworthy company, bought a drill from their Irish website on January 4th hoping to have it for Jan 8th, Irish website so I presumed that should be an OK time frame, they don't clearly represent that the goods are coming from the UK, by January 14th I had to request a refund as the drill had still not left the UK. They did refund but what a waste of time, don't bother with these lads outside England, not worth it."

"This review is purely for the llandarcy store neath. Absolutely shocking and disgusting service received. We bought exterior wall paint to paint the inside of our garage which was meant to be grey. We started using it and it looked white. We read online that it drys grey so we carried on painting. We left the paint dry and it dried completely white. We went down to the store to get a refund as it clearly was not grey. We showed them photos and the guy went to get the manager. The manager was extremely rude and refused a refund because we had used the whole tub. The manager was not interested in the slightest with our complaint. The customer service team was extremely helpful and refunded us straight away. We bought another paint which stated it was grey and low and behold it’s GREY not WHITE!!"

"I have never needed to complain about ScrewFix before - but their repeated careless in store attitude towards COVID is absolutely appalling. Today yet again I have to express how absolutely disgusted I am to see that the Abingdon Store was yet again allowing people to enter the store with no mask. And aimlessly wander around among customers without any control what so ever. As a company they have a duty of care to their staff and their customers. They should be able to refuse to serve people and company wide they need to adopt that approach. When I pointed out that the two roofing contractors in the store had no masks, the store person advised they are powerless to stop folks coming in, and the company had no real policy on it. Overhearing this conversation was one of their very capable female staff who look terrified as the guys in question who were stood in front of her as she served them were coughing and spluttering away. Screw Fix need to step up to the plate and do their bit for the Country and loose the complacent approach. Follow up to my review above: Contacted the ScrewFix SOS team as per their response to my review and have heard nothing....keep up the good work screw fix. I was about to enter your store today and yet again customers with no masks. So went up the road to Tool Station. They really don’t get it."

"I ordered a drill bit at 4.30 pm, and I recieved a message to say that my order was in process, and I would receive a sms message when this item would be ready for collection, as there previous message said my order would be processed shortly, it is now 19.35pm and this store closes at 20.00pm, I chose this stores location (Sutton coldfield) only for the fact it was closer for me, I would like to point out, I never have this kind of issue with the minworth branch, which I wished I used, maybe the staff at minworth can show the staff at Sutton coldfield how things are done."

"Not a patch on toolstation, I've always found prices are much higher than toolstation and the quality of products to be considerably lower. The LAP stock is in the most part is under par and its not a product I'd ever buy and install for a customer."

A couple of time click paid and collect from home , its been two days before I get text saying I can collect!! thats no good for tradesmen who want the materials more or less straight away, also straight talking attitude , I asked for refund because after click/collect ,goods were not there two days later, might as well shop around or go online !! ....you can get it quicker !! was told no refund as we have not got the goods yet?? GET REAL SCREWFIX"
